Smoked Urchinz

About an week and a half ago, I got a call from Scott, who had just left to go surfing in Pedro. He frantically was telling me that his truck had caught fire and seemed like it was about to blow up! He had been driving his old 1987 Ford Ranger while my car was in the body shop. When Ivy and I arrived, the fire department had put out the fire and left already. The truck never did blow-up, but it sure burned. Losing the truck wasn't so bad. After all, it was almost 20 years old and had about 230,000 miles on it. It had served Scott well, getting him to and from gigs, down to Mexico and up to Oregon more than a few times. He was even still driving it to work everyday until about a month before Ivy was born. The bummer thing was losing his surfboard and two wet suits that were in the back!

Farewell "Urchinz" (Scott's license plate, an old band name). We will miss you!
P.S. By the way. Scott was not hurt.....only his wallet felt the pain as we only had liability insurance on the truck. Luckily though, our renter's insurance will pay for some of the property loss, after the deductible!

Glad Scott wasn't hurt! So long to Urchinz. Sorry to hear about your board and wetsuits.
What a bummer!! RIP, little truck. Hope you get to the Big OHV Area in the sky!
