The Weather is Here, Wish You Were Fine!

Happy New Year to all. Sorry, couldn’t resist the silly stolen title but I’m sure our friends and relatives digging out of the snow will get a big chuckle from it. Yes, our weather was fabulon on the first day of 2007. Mom had to work on New Year’s Eve, so Dad and Ivy stayed home and partied. Actually, Ivy crashed by 9:00 and Dad couldn’t even finish the split of bubbly he opened at midnight. This made it easy for Dad and Ivy to get up early and head to Cabrillo Beach for the annual Polar Bear Swim. The sky was sunny, the air a pleasant 65 degrees and the water a crisp 59. Ivy didn’t actually make it very far past ankle deep, until Dad picked her up and took her out to his waist deep. Without Mom there for backup, we had to settle for a dip, not an actual swim. Look out next year, though! After the “swim”, we had a cupcake. Ivy wore most of hers but she definitely enjoyed it. It was a great start to what will hopefully be a great year for us all.
