BBQ....Hold the Meat
Still trying to catch up with the blog.....A couple of weekends ago we headed over to the Autry Western Heritage Museum for a Bar-B-Q event they were holding. Now, Scott and I don't really eat much meat, but we were thinking about throwing caution to the wind and going for a little with some messy sauce. Well, after about an hour and a half in traffic trying to get off of the freeway and park somewhere, we were a little hungry. Once inside though we did get to enjoy some nice music, but were a little bummed to find out that the food vendors had run out of meat and the health department wouldn't let the guests try the contestants' food. Luckily we did find some really tasty corn on the cob which we all loved.
There were a few horses in a corral nearby and Ivy got to experience them close up for the first time. She liked their noses the best.
We also ran into James Intveld who had performed earlier in the day. Ivy seemed to like the horses better.
Finally, last Saturday "Auntie Allison" accompanied us all to Ivy's first concert. We saw Dan Zanes and his friends at UCLA's Royce Hall. It was a really beautiful day and all went well. Ivy rushed to the front and moshed with the other kids for the entire first half of the show. The rest of the time she spent running up and down the aisle and then sat on my lap eating cookies. Thank goodness for cookies when you need them the most!
