O.K. ... A little summer wrap up.

Happy Birthday Scott! Back on August 8th, we celebrated Scott's birthday by hanging out at the beach, having dinner at The Pike restaurant just down the street, and then back home for chocolate cake. Ivy just loves to sing Happy Birthday!

Ivy and dad often go to the Veteren's Stadium Antique Swap Meet that occurs every 3rd Sunday of the month. I go once in a while, but it seems like I most often work the Saturday night before so I am sleeping instead. Here is Ivy in an outfit that she chose to wear. Her survival method....always bring a buddy and lots of snacks!!!!!

We've also been trying to beat the heat this summer by hanging out at the beach. We bought a season parking pass to Bolsa Chica State Beach where Momfo used to take all of us when we were younger. Ivy just loves running in and out of the surf, watching dad catch a wave, and digging in the sand. I love the sandy diaper changes most of all!

We've also been spending a lot of time in our backyard. It saves us all from driving each other insane living in such a small house. We eat dinner outside almost every night, splash in the kiddie pool, and try to tend to our garden. About the only things that grew well this year were these volunteer decorative squash. I had bought some last Thanksgiving as decor and tossed them into our compost pile. They popped up all over the yard and come in all shapes, textures and sizes. Ivy is posing with one of our favorites after a pool session.
